The home menu

This is the beginning of a basic home menu to help me streamline my cooking and work on practicing a few dishes that i'd like to serve people. Comments will contain notes for how to make the process more efficient. all recipes are made entirely from scratch except for a few small exceptions. (perhaps this will change to be all from scratch). The only thing i won't do is grow all the food - though some of it is grown by me.

Dessert

Crepes
crepes served with macerated fruit and whipped cream.

Roasted fruit
roasted seasonal fruit, served with a biscuit and whipped cream.

Fruit crumble
seasonal fruit topped with oat crumble.

Fruit in wine
fresh seasonal fruit marinated in pino grigio and herbs.

Dessert profiteroles
profiteroles, with various dessert accompaniments

Entrees

Spice-rubbed chicken
roasted chicken thigh, spice rub of the day, seasonal starch and veg.

Pan-seared chicken
pan seared chicken thigh, wine sauce, seasonal starch and veg.

Chicken soup
chicken broth, chicken thigh, carrots, celery and onion with pastina.

Chicken korma
chicken, tomato, cashew, cream, spice. served with rice

Roasted chicken and gravy
roasted chicken, seasonal stuffing, country gravy, seasonal starch and veg.

Soup

Tomato bisque
tomatoes, onions, cream, oregano and black pepper.

Light pea soup
Peas, vegetable stock and cream.

Roasted carrot soup
roasted carrot, citrus and spice.

Avgolemono
chicken stock, lemon, egg and pastina.

French onion soup
chicken stock with onions, and cheese toast points.

Appetizer

New egg salad
soft-boiled egg halves, with a lemon mayonnaise, parsley and toast.

White bean hummus
white bean hummus, toast points.

Home fries
home fries, homemade chili mayonnaise.

Chips and dip
homemade baked potato chips, sour cream dip.

Assorted tea sandwiches
tea sandwiches, with seasonal raw fruits and vegetables.

Pasta and Risotto

Gnocchi
homemade potato gnocchi, olive oil, pepper and salt.

Spaghetti aglio olio
spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and parmesan.

Spaghetti carbonara
spaghetti in a parmesan and egg sauce, with turkey bacon.

Classic risotto
flavored with butter and grated parmesan.

Pantry risotto
risotto flavored with what is on hand.

Salads

House salad
greens, carrot, red onion, parmesan, croutons in a lemon vinaigrette.

Citrus slaw
cabbage, carrot, in a citrus and coriander dressing.

Soy-ginger slaw
cabbage, carrot in a ginger, soy and chili dressing.

Wedge salad
iceberg wedge, with bleu cheese dressing and turkey bacon.

Faux-nicoise
greens, potato, egg, carrots, lemon mayo and protein.

Breakfast

Eggs
two eggs served to your liking, served with toast.

French Toast/pancakes
made from scratch, and served with maple syrup.

Oatmeal
served with butter and brown sugar, or butter, salt and black pepper.

Biscuits and gravy
spiced chicken gravy with biscuits.

Korean breakfast porridge
rice porridge, fried egg, soy sauce, black pepper and sesame oil.
